Music to Our Ears

When you listen to music, what feelings/emotions does it evoke?
My music taste vary a lot probably like most people depending on mood. Different artists give off different vibes some more sad others more vibrant and cheerful.
Jonny Cash- He probably has the most diverse of both styles more upbeat as well as more mellow music.
Daughter- Their bad has a sadder, chill vibe.
Seether, Fallout Boy and Daughtry all are good for a less serious vibe not that they don’t have serious songs. But majorly not.

What is your favorite song? Why? Is it connected to a certain time, event, or place?
My favorite song that has a memory attached to it would probably we Skinny Love by Birdy. I know it played on vampire academy’s on the finale feeling sad that is automatically the song I go and listen to. It may be sad but I find it comforting when I just want to be alone.at least 3 years ago and it was so sad a cried but the lyrics remind me so much of loss that when I am.

Do your friends listen to the same styles of music as you? What do you think this means?
Yes some do but others don’t. I feel personally like it’s easier to make friend with someone if you two like the same type or style of music just because music is such a big part of our world right now that its an easy topic to connect with especially if they are newer friends. A lot of my old friends don’t nessairly like all the music I like but I don’t really need that to connect with them so it doesn’t really bother me. Its when I have nothing to talk about with a new person I automatically turn to music to help make the situation for comfortable for conversation.

Is there any style of music that should not be tolerated? Why?

I think people have a right to listen to whatever they feel like listening to and it’s not my place to say what should be allowed now if some weird, reggae, jazz, or scremo came on I would most definitely put a pair of head phones in though; otherwise I would leave it alone.

Turning 18 (Billy Collins)

Everything has changed.

We feel our freedom, but not without sadness.

Our world changes rapidly and we start to feel the ageing.

We are no longer pure souls with naive minds.

We are the next wave of the future fast approaching our shove into the world.

Jobs, Payments, School, Future plans all the toil and battle of our futures..

Ingrained into us and stressed of its overbearing importance to our life.

No longer are we care free, no longer do our souls look ageless.

Observing the younger generation is refreshing.

Reminds of when things like recess and lying awake for nap time seemed important.

We all have our regrets but we can’t go back now.

We are pushing into the world head first.

Be ready to jump instead of fall.

(Food Memory) Those Thanksgiving Meals

Food is a big part of my family traditions. Even at both houses my mom’s mom and my dad’s mom we always had a ton of food. When I was younger I always remember we would drive down to my grandma Peggy’s. (My dads mom.) Each memory I have that I can still remember we would always get in really late I don’t know why but we did. When you stepped inside the house has a clinging odor of smoke and food. There was always so many smells it was hard to say what each on was. The day of thanksgiving us kids would always be forced to go play outside because adults what to have alone time and no one was allowed into grandma Peggy’s kitchen accept for the moms. My cousin abbey and I would always sneak out back to our grandma’s bird cages and Koi pond. They were both so beautiful in their own rugged way I suppose. Before my grandma started to get sick she would paint a lot of her patio with her birds and her fish. Anyways, as I was saying the smells would seep out of the house and of course we knew by then like clockwork that dinner was about to be served. Kids always ate first even though the adults always made our plates for us given we were only 6 but still. You try to be independent anyways. So my grandma would have a whole feast lining the tables and counters, lot of family always came and ate enough that all us kids always got pushed to the floor to eat around the coffee table. We never minded though by then it was tradition and we were small so eating at the coffee table was a lot easier for us. PLUS we got to watch TV, what little grandma would allow. I don’t really remember the food specifically even though it doesn't seem like that long ago a lot of my memories have faded away and I can’t really remember many of them anymore except for the traditions. I wish my grandma was still alive, she was a wise woman and I wish she was still alive to give me advice today and to teach me her awesome cooking skills. After she was gone the family tradition meal stopped and we would all go years without seeing each other. I think she would have been disappointed in that, I know I am.

Movie Preference Post

Favorite Movie: My favorite movie would probably be Safe Haven just because I adore the story plot and how a girl can go from feeling so hopeless to finding her happiness again. She gets her do over and not a lot of people get that. Sure it’s still sad because her husband (now ex) was a mean abusive drunk  but she finds her place. Like I said I’m a sucker for a hopeful ending.

Movies I Don’t Really Care for:
I don’t really like super intense drama movies just because they tend to be way to serious for me and I can’t really connect with them since my life isn’t ever nearly as dramatic or entertaining as some of those movies so I try to avoid them unless I see one that looks like it could be worth watching.
How often and where do you usually watch movies:
I watch movies every once in a while. It really depends on the movies because the more movies out that I really want to see the more I will watch the shows. The most recent one I have watched was malificent. OMG it was soooooo good. My new favorite fairytale right there.

What do you usually need for movie viewing:
Normally all I need for a movie showing in my red blanket and red pillow and a cold can of Mnt. Dew. YUUMMM. I’m a simple gall and like to really relax while I watch movies because that really the only reason why I watch them is because it gives me and excuse to lay down and crash out. LOL
If my life story was made into a movie:

If my life story was a movie. Oh my.. I would be funny. I can be quite an idiot sometimes and don’t really have a filter so something’s stupid sentences come out of my mouth. I have fun with my friends and family. I think it’s be like my own version of a modern family show.. Very comical.

Dan In Real Life ?'s

7. Can you know in three days that you love someone?
I don’t know if it’s really possible to love someone in three days. I guess I can’t say it would be impossible because each couple is different and some people claim that they just know when someone is the one. I don’t know if it would necessarily be love in three days but I feel like if you knew someone well enough maybe you could care about them a lot. Love them I don’t know, it’s kind of one of those things you just have to do yourself.
2. What are three tips you can give to parents of teenagers?
What would my tips be? My first would probably be for a parent to be patient. I know a lot of times that’s asking a lot because us teenagers can be extremely frustrating as I understand it because adults also need to remember there are some things use teenagers have to do on our own.  Patience is key while they figure out the world in THEIR OWN time. Be understanding which is self-explanatory. Obviously don’t let the kids turn into a brat by always being understanding say when they break a rule but keep an open mind and be ready to listen. Finally raise you kids with the ability to choose their own paths, I know parents only want to see their children succeed but still, you and them may have a very different opinion on what being successful means.
11. Where was your best hiding place as a kid for hide and seek?
I could fit in my grandmas trunk when I was little and it was perfect because there was just enough space for me to fit but just by looking at it you wouldn’t think I could that why I was always hiding there and I’d always be found last.
27. Are teenagers pretty hard on their parents?

We can be but only because we think we have everything figured out and we don’t need are parents anymore.

My Final Fairwell

1.       As this class draws to a close we take time to reflect on all the pieces of work we have accomplished in completing. One of my favorite most meaningful piece I published on my blog would probably be ‘In a place I call home’ it was for my grandma when she was really sick from cancer and she always hated hospitals. She did want to be stuck dying surrounded by sterile white wall and the constant smell of bleach and cleaner so she asked to come home even though they brought her hospital bed and machines with her. They day she died was one of the hardest days of my life, I was young and it was the first loss I had to deal with in my life. As hard as it was to miss her watching her struggle and fight was harder and in the end.

Silence. The silence is calming and sweet. Even after a storm the warm air blankets around her like a soft blanket and a kind friend. The freedom of the open space is vast and breathing is easy. The smell of maple, pine and a hint of hay swirl through the damp air like dancers in a ballet. Being here is easy, her future here easier to imagine than ever before as she tastes a hint of honeysuckle on the tip of her tongue from the little flowers that litter the earthy floor around her. Tilting her face towards the sun, she closes her eyes soaking the little rays as the trickle through the clouds letting the breeze ruffle her hair hanging down her back. Her eyelids flutter open and she glance back down to the pool of tears the clouds shed on her peace of sanctuary. The rippling surface reflects the peaceful smile she wears and the sky that no longer cry’s for her in happiness. She is home, she is at peace.

2.       During this class I have managed to read around 25-30 books over the weeks. Some I enjoyed more than others but then again I’m a sucker for a good book. Among those I read Beautiful Disaster would be my favorite. I don’t normally like love stories but this one was A M A Z I N G.  At times it was bitter sweet, at others it was super happy! This book is the new love of my life. I just fell in love with the characters right from the start! For sure a must read for anyone who like college romance stories.

3.       Having a blog was awesome. Even though I didn’t post all that much…Except for the topic that really meant a lot to me. It was cool, I always wondered about blogs before I got one and the experience was great. I chose the name for blog ‘Fairytales for Hopeful Hearts’ for the same reason I always try to have some kind of hope in my stories no matter how small. Fairy tales are my childish dreaming as it comes to life, I will be forever young in my love for them and will never grow old. PETER PAN <3 I will continue to post my stories as a way to share with everyone who wishes to take a step inside my head.

4.       Journaling was cool, I’ve always had this weird thing where in bothers I to write on blank pages as weird as that sounds but I don’t like to ruin things that are so perfect. I have gotten a new journal to record my stories in but it’s a lot smaller then my creative writing notebook and leather bond.

5.       Never Looking Back, Always Looking Forward. –This is the motto I use for my life. <3 Forever and Always.

6.

I watch the world speed by from my perch inside this cage

The Sun rises and falls from the sky and the moon sings it lullaby to the stars

Still I sing.

I watched the seasons come and go and my wings grow stiff without freedom to sore through the changing air.

Still I sing.

I watch the ones grow to adults and form nests of their own, knowing that will never be me. I am destined for the metal home that I am enslaved to.

Yet I still sing.

I grow weak now, my old age a thief of my energy but not of my hope.

For that I still sing.

A young little bird visited my window today and asked how I could sing of such beautiful things locked away from the sky and the trees in such a cruel way.I responded simply in the most honest and truthful way.

I sing for the trees the grow through the night, I sing for the flowers that curl up at night.

I sing for the animals the run in fear; I sing for all the cries that no one hears.

I sing for the little girl who feels all alone, I sing for the mothers whose son fights in the war and hasn’t come home.

I sing for the old man with no place to call his own, I sing for the woman whose husband hung up the phone.

I sing for the baby lying mistreated in her crib, whose parents can’t put down the needle long enough to see what they are doing is not only harmful but lethal

I sing for the daughter who ran away from her pain, the one whose demons could not be slain so she turned instead to cocaine.

I sing for the day I will feel the freedom on my wings perhaps not in this lifetime but maybe another we will see what death brings.

Hope

That is what I sing for and so should you. A hope that one day you can start over, and have a try at something new.

7.      When I get out of school I may continue on to write young adult books as a hobby but not as a job. I could never make things I enjoy my job because I fear that if I do that I may forget why I love to do it some much when It’s a job and no longer for fun.

8.      For all my fellow seniors I would just like to officially say… WE ARE HALF WAY THERE. I am super, super, SUPER excited and happy and sad. I will miss all of you and those who were in my class that I had the opportunity to get to know I just wanted to say thank you for making memories with me for my senior year. For all the underclassman, Just keep working you are getting there and you will be in our place soon enough. Don’t rush through, the freedom will be exciting but there is also a lot of sadness that a lot of the people who have known you all your life. Stay Beautiful My Friends.
